a garden update
Our garden is out of control.... mostly in a good way. I am in disbelief how big some of the plants have grown (okra is over 6ft tall) and how well the plants have produced. Cabbage and broccoli didn't work but everything else has been thriving! Here are some pics that scream "summer time"

here is what the garden looked like mid may when we planted everything....

and this is what it looks like now
remember these beauts?
well they produced! we have two watermelons growing at a rapid pace who wants some?! haha
the red bell peppers are starting to change color and are getting bigger
these are tim's favorite... HOT banana peppers
we harvested these things a few days ago... lots of okra (producing like crazy), cherry tomatoes (the plant i've been most impressed by), a cucumber, several jalapenos and a bell pepper
but nothing touches these... my how i love me some heirloom tomatoes!!! they had not been washed yet when i took this pic so you may be able to still see some of the cayenne pepper residue on them... sprinkling it on these guys has kept the squirrels away really well!
